Ostego Bay Foundation Inc. Showcases Annual Fundraiser

December 4, 2015 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

On Friday, December 4th, join the local Fort Myers Beach community for an amazing night of fun, food and friends, all to support charity. The 17th Annual Ostego Bay Charitable Silent Auction will take place at Bonita Bills Waterfront Café located at 700 Fisherman’s Wharf under the Mantanzas Pass Bridge on San Carlos Island. The fun starts at 5:00 pm and runs until 8 pm. There is no entrance fee and the optional Fish Fry is offered at only $10 per person. Auction items include local treasures such as free overnight stays at local hotel resorts to fine art by local nature artists. Enjoy a great dinner on a charming waterfront location and support a beneficial local educational resource. Put this on your must-do list for Friday.
Founded in 1991, the Ostego Bay Foundation Marine Science Center is a self funded 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The Marine Science Center, which is open to the public, offers hands on activities, historical exhibits and aquariums featuring native species. A working waterfront tour of the shrimping industry rounds out this popular attraction. The mission of the Ostego Bay Foundation, Inc. is to promote the understanding, preservation and enhancement of our unique marine environment through education, research and community involvement. The Foundation provides interactive educational experiences to encourage stewardship of our natural resources.

Joanne Semmer, the President of the Ostego Bay Foundation stated, “We are grateful to our generous donors. Many local residents realize the importance of the Foundation to our local conservation efforts. You need to have a basic understanding of our local environment conservation efforts. The Science Center provides that core knowledge.”
The Charitable Auction is a great opportunity for local businesses and benefactors who care about our natural beauty and support conservation through education to come out and rally behind the foundation. Donations go directly to the operations of the center and help make it possible for general improvements and expansion of exhibits.
Become a partner in marine education and research with a visit to Bonita Bills Waterfront Café on Friday evening on December 4th from 5pm – 8pm. Help keep San Carlos Island Marine Science Center moving forward and achieving its mission. For more information visit http://www.OstegoBay.org or call 239-765-8101.
